Sun setting along the ocean as their backdrop, trade winds gently blowing, family & friends gathered to witness true love! That was the setting of this beautiful intimate wedding, along Kauai’s Western most shore. It was simply an elegant event. Boasting great charm and originality and masterfully crafted by planner Marlene Mira of Mira Mira Events at Kekaha’s Ocean Front Fischer House & Cottage. I loved this couple & this wedding, it was such a pleasure to be a part of their special day! Enjoy a few of my favs from their event…it was hard for me to pick just a few
I know I say it al the time, but I love maternity sessions. Couples are always so happy and anxious to meet their new little one. Our portrait was scheduled for Baby Beach in Poipu, and Crystal thought she knew where it was, apparently people call Poipu Beach, Baby Beach as well. I lived here for 12 years and never knew that but hey, I thought hmm I wonder if she is thinking of Poipu Beach when she wasn’t there at our scheduled time. So we kinda ran out of sunlight time since we drove around Poipu looking for each other! LOL lucky for us, I had a morning shoot on South shore so I came after to give her a real session where we aren’t rushing to be done before the sun. Crystal is a photographer herself and it was fun working with her and her family. Congrats on your new addition, your family is so beautiful! AND thanks for being flexible and taking two days out of your Kauai vacation for pictures, at least now on your next visit you will know where the real Baby Beach is
Great meeting you guys, enjoy a sneak peek into their session….

Who says the pictures have to stop after the wedding!? Todd & Natalie wanted some images of just the two of them while on their honeymoon on the North Shore of Kauai. I loved these two!! They were so cute and super fun! Congrats to you both and I wish you a life full of love & fun times together!!
Enjoy a few of my favorites from their session…

Hawaiian Monk seals can often be seen on our beaches here in Kauai. It’s pretty unusual for them to show up on our western beaches out here in Kekaha! This seal was born out in Milolii last year and has been injured and has been frequenting the western side of the islands beaches. I stumbled upon this guy while doing a family portrait the other night! I called the Monk Seal rescue right away, here in Kauai it consists of one lady
To all our visitors please let our sleeping monk seals rest. They are wild animals and can bite! They need to rest to digest their food so they can swim fast enough to escape predators such as sharks. Enoy them from a distance, use a telephoto lens while taking pictures and let them have their space! Aloha
Ok to be honest, I love trash the dress sessions!!!! It’s a super fun way to get some really relaxed images without the time constraints of your wedding day! It’s so fun to just have fun with your dress and hey the waters warm here…so why not dip in!
I photographed Jeff & Tamah a few days before for their beautiful intimate island wedding. Tamah & Jeff had so much fun and were overwhelmed by the beauty that the north shore of Kauai held they wanted more images. So they scheduled a day after session where they cut loose and got wet! How fun is that!

It was so much fun photographing my best friend since 7th grade’s first baby bump! Dawn and I have been friends since our first day of math class. She was a total math junkie and I just doodled in my math tablet, always day dreaming of what was going on after math class. We have stayed friends even thru our college years & my living on the west coast and Hawaii. I love my Dawnie and I love that she is about to be a mommy! Dawn has a successful acupuncture practice in Nassau County Long Island, Pheonix Wellness Center. She was a picture of health as a mom to be and it was my gift to her to capture this milestone in life….becoming a mommy!
Here are a few images of my best friend on a beach we grew up and shared many memories on together, Smith Point Park in Long Island, New York.

It was such a pleasure working with this family! They were all so fun eager to explore the south shore location for their shoot. The kids had a ball exploring the caves, finding crabs, cowry shells, and chasing fish and crabs along the hidden beaches which we explored! This is one of my favorite locations on Kauai’s south shore, check out some of their images and I am sure you will agree that this is one of the prettiest places for pictures on the sunny south side
Aloha!
A beautiful event at the Waimea Plantation Cottages. I love, love , love the cottages!! The cottages may be one of my favorite venues on the south-west side of the island of Kauai. The luring charm of the cottages sets the tone to an elegant event, creating the nostalgic feeling of stepping back in time to Kauai’s plantation era.
Richard and Crystal were so much fun, so cute and so happy!! I was overly excited to photograph this wedding after working with them on their engagement session a few months back. I wish these two all the best and many babies in their future so I can keep on photographing them for years to come !! Congrats you two kids!

Yeah!! MR. & MRS K!
As I grow older and visit the east coast regularly each summer visiting family and friends, I grow a deeper appreciation for the architecture that I once took for granted. On the east end it’s the charming old barns that are so neatly preserved with not a weed out of place. The farm stands adorned in sunflowers and produce, the wildflowers that dance along the highways and the antiques immaculately littering the yards. Here are a few images of some of the kiddos in front of a man’s wood shop that inspired me in Riverhead, NY while at an event at the East End Arts Council. His shop was right next door and he was such an amazing craftsman. His building had an amazing mural that took hold of me even more so then the event itself…I had to capture it.

A-MAZING! I miss painting murals…anyone want one….let’s do it!
