2012 Solar Eclipse (Kauai, Hawaii Photographer)
Solar Eclipse 2012 captured from my back yard. It never got super full here in Hawaii only about 10% but it was still a super cool site.

Sun setting along the ocean as their backdrop, trade winds gently blowing, family & friends gathered to witness true love! That was the setting of this beautiful intimate wedding, along Kauai’s Western most shore. It was simply an elegant event. Boasting great charm and originality and masterfully crafted by planner Marlene Mira of Mira Mira Events at Kekaha’s Ocean Front Fischer House & Cottage. I loved this couple & this wedding, it was such a pleasure to be a part of their special day! Enjoy a few of my favs from their event…it was hard for me to pick just a few
Keepsake Albums are by far the best ways to cherish your images forever. They tell your story and can be shared like a coffee table album to friends and family for years to come.
I love offering unique professional papers and custom cover options to my clients making your album be about you and your style. Custom finished papers make the images really pop! To me it’s important that my clients take away something breathtaking from their session. I am not talking about just getting images themselves on a disk to throw in the desk drawer and never to look at again, but a work of ART! I DO feel it is important to have a professionally created piece after your session to have at least one awesome piece to go away with. Let me create a keepsake album from your wedding &/or session and make your story be told and come to life.
Please take a moment and view the incredible Layflat Album (solid brown) & Flush Mount Albums (speckled brown).
Boutique Packaging included.
On my way home from a session with an adorable family….whom I will post soon!!! I was driving down the longest straight stretch of road on Kauai, the Mana Stretch. I was taking in the view and enjoying the silence in my car….which is usually filled with screaming little children! I was so excited to spot this Pueo, Hawaiian Owl, sitting on the telephone wires. Since I was alone, without busy kids in my car…I pulled over just to watch the predator stalk it’s pray, possibly a little mouse in the brush.
Sometimes in life we need to slow down and just take in the things we might not have noticed if we were rushing thru this rat race we call life! Enjoy the simple things, enjoy little gifts which pop up all around us and look onto them as a source of inspiration.
As this pueo spotted me, it flew off…souring into the sunset….spreading his wings to fly! Perhaps so it too could be alone with the stillness and silence of our natural world which we all share! How ever you may find your inspiration….it’s there to be found!!
I am so excited and honored to have had the opportunity to shoot for the cover of Edible Hawaiian Islands Magazine. I have always admired this publication and always managed to stumble upon one while traveling throughout the country. There is an Edible Magazine for some of my favorite cities and is a great resource for local shopping and businesses within a community. It was so fun working with them and getting creative with the subject, a Meyers Lemon. What can we do with a lemon you ask…check out the fall issue to find out…and don’t forget to look at the COVER! Aloha!
As I grow older and visit the east coast regularly each summer visiting family and friends, I grow a deeper appreciation for the architecture that I once took for granted. On the east end it’s the charming old barns that are so neatly preserved with not a weed out of place. The farm stands adorned in sunflowers and produce, the wildflowers that dance along the highways and the antiques immaculately littering the yards. Here are a few images of some of the kiddos in front of a man’s wood shop that inspired me in Riverhead, NY while at an event at the East End Arts Council. His shop was right next door and he was such an amazing craftsman. His building had an amazing mural that took hold of me even more so then the event itself…I had to capture it.
A-MAZING! I miss painting murals…anyone want one….let’s do it!
A photo “playdate” with Anya….showing off her Keiki Couture handmade items for baby made right here on the beautiful island of Kauai!
Thanks for letting your grass grow so long Jami and Brian…makes for better pics
Having a child play with one of their favorite toys during a photo session will make them comfortable and it will bring you back to the memories of them playing with that special toy long after it’s been tossed aside for your child’s newest love.
This might be my favorite…:)
Butterflies were dancing past…between the butterflies and Anya’s quick little feet I was excited to see I got a butterfly in the picture!! :)
Even the prettiest models need a break!
Thank you little Miss Anya for being such a good model!!
